چکیده
Introduction: The creation and maintenance of uninterrupted Haemodialysis (HD) is dependent on the quality reliability vascular access. native Radio-cephalic Arteriovenous Fistula (RCAVF) access choice for HD in patients with end stage renal diseases. A thorough understanding anatomy critical selecting site RCAVF that provides flow rates necessary development an optimal outflow vein. widespread use doppler ultrasound has facilitated identification vessels are suitable fistula construction. Aim: To analyse surgical radial artery cephalic vein front forearm dorsum hand, pertinent to planning. Materials Methods: cross-sectional cadaveric 30 formalin preserved upper limbs specimens adult human cadavers was done Department Anatomy, Hamdard Institute Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, (n=22 limbs) from August 2016 April 2018 Government Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India (n=8 November 2019. external diameter artery, distance between were measured at mid forearm, wrist Anatomical Snuff Box (ASB). Measurements taken sliding vernier caliper accuracy 0.01 mm. All measurements tabulated separately right left-side. data analysed using Microsoft excel. Descriptive statistics like mean, standard deviation (SD) range evaluated all parameters collected. paired t-test applied compare left-side measurements. Results: Amongst analysed, 3±0.26 mm right-side 2.87±0.24 left- side 2.5±0.59 2.9±0.33 ASB. 2.5 ±0.59 which minimum maximum (4.02±0.76 4.2±0.71 left hand). Conclusion: formation ASB may give better results as closer compared midforearm reasonable diameter. Additionally, it would also provide long segment arterialization.

Central Transposition of the Cephalic Vein in Patients with Brachiocephalic Arteriovenous Fistula and Cephalic Arch Stenosis
PURPOSE Our study aims to evaluate to evaluate clinical outcomes after cephalic vein transposition (CVT) to the axilla in patients with brachiocephalic arteriovenous fistula (BC-AVF) and cephalic arch stenosis (CAS). MATERIALS AND METHODS Hospital records of 13 patients (median age, 61 years; males, 54%) who received CVT to the proximal basilic/axillary vein due to either dysfunction (n=2) or...
متن کاملComparison of Six-Month Patency Rate in Ulnar-Basilic Fistula and Radio-Cephalic Fistula for Hemodialysis Access
Background and Objectives: There are different types of vascular access. We compared the patency rate for six months in ulnar-basilic fistula and Radio-Cephalic fistula for vascular access in hemodialysis patients. Methods: The study was performed on 60 patients of 50.6±13.5 years of age with end-stage renal failure undergoing hemodialysis from 2012-2014 in Imam Ali hospital in Zahedan. Pat...
متن کامل"cephalic vein anatomy in antecubital fossa during the construction of arteriovenous fistula"
in order to create an effective arteriovenous fistula (avf) in patients with sustained chronic renal failure (crf), surgeons need to become familiar with various anatomical variations of venous structures in the operating field. because of variety and different types of cubital venous anatomies, there is more than a 90% possibility of creating suitable avfs in the cubital fossa , but in the wri...
متن کاملPreoperative ultrasonographic examination of the radial artery and the cephalic vein and risks of dialysis arterio-venous fistula dysfunction
BACKGROUND Hemodialysis used as renal replacement therapy requires a well-functioning vascular access. Arterio-venous fistula (AVF) created on the forearm is the best vascular access, but it also reveals numerous complications such as: lack of fistula maturation and hemodynamically significant stenoses. Many risk factors of fistula dysfunction are still not identified. MATERIAL/METHODS Radial...
متن کاملUltrasonographic Findings of Superficial Radial Nerve and Cephalic Vein
OBJECTIVE To investigate the anatomic relationship between the superficial radial nerve (SRN) and the cephalic vein (CV) through ultrasonography due to the possibility of SRN injury during cephalic venipuncture. METHODS Both forearms of 51 healthy volunteers with no history of trauma or surgery were examined in proximal to distal direction using ultrasonography. We measured the distance betwe...
